But we’re not done yet… and as always, we are closing out the year and this season of Dark Charge, BIG.
We’ve expanded our lineup with a creative Covington Collaboration and created a trio of stouts that will take you back in time with some sweet nostalgia. We are proud to introduce Papas, Opera Cream Stout and the Breakfast Box: Maple Breakfast, Cinnamon Roll and Blueberry Muffin, the final variants to top off an incredible Dark Charge Lineup, available for preorder November 27th at 9am!
Papas Dark Charge Opera Cream
Adjuncts: Lactose, Madagascar Vanilla Beans, Cocoa Nibs
For this variant we teamed up with another Covington classic business, Papas Candies. This Opera Cream Candy themed version of Dark Charge is loaded with Madagascar Vanilla Beans, Cocoa Nibs and a touch of Lactose to give this collaboration a true nod to the famous Opera Cream Candy. The barrel aged stout gives notes of smooth vanilla and caramel with underlying hints of oak, with the aroma and flavor dominated with dark chocolate and vanilla and a thick, slightly sweet mouthfeel provided by lactose.
Dark Charge Breakfast Box
Arriving fresh from the barrel, this trio of imperial breakfast themed stouts is aimed to satisfy your sweet tooth! Inside the Breakfast Box you’ll find the rich, delectable tastes of Maple Breakfast, Cinnamon Roll and Blueberry Muffin.
Adjuncts: Maple Extract, Coffee, Cocoa nibs, Vanilla beans
This imperial stout aged away for 12 months before getting copious amounts of maple, coffee, cocoa nibs, and vanilla beans added to bring forward aromas and flavors of the most important meal of the day – breakfast. These heavy handed additions pair perfectly with the roasty notes of this bourbon barrel aged delicacy. Similar to that first sip of coffee in the morning, this beer has strong coffee aromas that are balanced by the harmony of maple syrup, cocoa nibs and vanilla beans.

An aroma like no other Dark Charge, packed with the notes of fresh baked cinnamon rolls coming hot out of the oven. Base Dark Charge is aged in the cellars of our Barrel House for over 10 months then loaded with cinnamon sticks and vanilla beans to create our version of your favorite breakfast treat, the cinnamon roll, in liquid form.

This delicate breakfast classic comes to life after year old Dark Charge has been refermented on organic Blueberry Puree then loaded with freshly cut Madagascar Vanilla Beans and freshly ground cinnamon to tie together a delicious version of Dark Charge. The base barrel aged stout features notes of coffee and vanilla with subtle caramel from the oak. The flavor and aroma are dominated by that of a freshly baked blueberry
